Why goats milk?

Goats Milk is full of vitamins and minerals which keep the skin in excellent condition.

Is goat milk good for reducing the effects of free radicals?

Free radicals are tiny unpaired particles that contain oxygen and are chemically unstable. They look for electrons, such as ones found in human cells to create a more stable state. Free radicals often cause damage such as premature aging.

The body creates free radicals through normal function. They can also arise from outside elements such as cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, radiation, and chemicals.

In summary we find that goats milk in a Bug Off! soap is beneficial to the skin on many levels. It can brighten, tone, rejuvenate and rehydrate the skin. Our soaps are good for all skin types because of its naturally occurring skin loving components.

Bug Off Goat Milk Soap

Bug Off Goat Milk Soap is effective in preventing unwanted attention from Mosquitoes and other small biting insects.

We blend Citronella, Teatree and Lavender Essential Oils with Raw Goats Milk, Natural Oils and Shea Butter to create a soap that is not only effective but also smells great!

Citronella essential oil is known to help soothe skin conditions such as acne, eczema and dermatitis. It also has healing properties so is ideal to use on a variety of wounds and sores, likewise Lavender Essential Oil is known for its calming and soothing properties, which can help to reduce inflammation and irritation. It is also a powerful antiseptic, as is Teatree essential oil that can help to disinfect and heal wounds.

Our Bug Off Goat Milk Soap contains No Parabens, No Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and No added colour.

Why Goats Milk?

Goats Milk is full of vitamins and minerals which help keep the skin in optimum condition. Vitamin A (Retinol) works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen. It contains Vitamin K which helps brighten the skin and improve elasticity and which also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, counteracting both inflammation and free radicals.

Goats Milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) which helps remove dead skin cells leaving new cells that are smoother so giving a brighter appearance and because it is a natural moisturiser, it can help prevent the skin from drying out.

Zinc and Selenium are also present in Goats Milk which again are anti-oxidants helping in the fight to protect skin from free radicals.

What are Free Radicals?

Free radicals can be formed either naturally in the body through normal processes or from outside elements such as cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, radiation, and chemicals.

Basically, free radicals are tiny unpaired particles that contain oxygen and are chemically  unstable. They look for electrons, such as ones found in human cells to create a more stable state. This is often what causes the damage such as premature aging that free radicals are connected with.

In summary we find that Goats Milk in a soap is beneficial to the skin on many levels. It can brighten, tone, rejuvenate and rehydrate the skin.  It is good for all skin types because of its naturally occurring skin loving components.

Shea Butter Benefits

We use Shea Butter which is a natural fat that is extracted from the fruit of the Shea tree. Shea Butter has been used on the skin for centuries and its benefits to the skin are extensive. It is naturally rich in Vitamins A, E and F and also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties, which make it ideal for conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis. Shea Butter is also known to help reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Why use our Goat Milk Soap?

All our soaps are made by hand in small batches here on the farm, we use carefully selected ingredients which we combine with raw Goats Milk from our own small herd of happy goats.

We do not reduce the milks efficacy by diluting it with water, nor do we use a cheaper powdered alternative.

Our ladies are family pets, they all have names and we give them the best possible life we can. When they retire from milking they stay with the herd and tend to stay in their family groups keeping an eye on the grand ‘ kids’.

Goat Milk & Neem Shampoo Bar 100g

Goat Milk & Neem Shampoo Bar draws on the benefits of Neem essential oil along with the essential oils of Teatree, Lemon, Rosemary and Lavender were selected primarily for their healing properties and for the positive effect they have on the hair and scalp.

The fragrance has been compared to being ‘spa-like’ and has a fresh, herby, woody, clean and purifying scent.

Neem Oil is extracted from the Neem tree which originates from India. The Neem tree is considered sacred in India as it symbolizes good health and protection. In Ayurvedic medicine it is also known as the ‘village pharmacy’ on account of it having so many uses in aiding overall wellbeing and treat various ailments.

It is a known antifungal, antiseptic, antiviral and antibacterial.

Our Goat Milk with Neem Shampoo Bar contains No Parabens, No Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and No added colour and have benefits over their bottled counterparts.

Neem Oil benefits for the hair and scalp

Neem Oil has many elements which are of benefit to the hair and scalp. Omega 9 helps maintain the softness, suppleness, and radiance of skin and hair, and is purported to stimulate the growth of thicker, longer, and stronger hair, it can also help with controlling dandruff.

Stearic Acid acts an emulsifying agent that helps to bind water and oil together giving it cleansing properties that remove dirt, sweat and excess sebum from hair and scalp. It also conditions and protects hair from damage.

Neem oil is also effective regulating the secretion of sebum (the oily waxy substance that can be found on the skin) therefore restoring to normal any dryness or oiliness of the scalp.

Neem Oil has also been shown to be effective in treating head lice.

Goat Milk Benefits for the Hair and Scalp

In addition to providing numerous benefits for a daily skincare routine, Goat Milk is hugely beneficial for the Hair and Scalp.

Goat Milk is full of vitamins and minerals which help keep the scalp in optimum condition. Vitamin A and C both help to stimulate the production of collagen, which is  essential for healthy roots and hair growth.

Goat Milk contains Lauric Acid, which is a fatty acid which protects the roots of the hair and is also antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial which means it can help manage troublesome scalp conditions.

Goat milk contains both saturated and unsaturated fat which helps hydrate the hair making it stronger, more manageable and overall healthier.

Hair Loving Oils

We combine the Goat Milks natural oils including Castor Oil which is a natural emollient and is known to nourish the hair and protect it from breaking, it also helps smooth the outer hair cuticle and adds shine, which helps eradicate the need for a separate conditioner.

Castor oil is also an antibacterial which helps to reduce fungal and bacteria on  the scalp.

It also absorbs dirt, leaving you with clean shiny hair!

These combined benefits make Goat Milk and Neem Shampoo Bar is suitable for  all hair types.

It has helped many of our customers with itchy irritated scalps due to eczema, psoriaisis, dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.

Tips for using a Shampoo Bar

Wet your hair and the Shampoo Bar. Rub the Shampoo Bar between your hands to create a lather. Massage the lather into your scalp and hair. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

There can be a period of adjustment in making the transition from bottled shampoo to a bar, some people take to it straightaway, for others it takes a little longer.

Below are a few tips to help you on your way to a super healthy scalp and beautifully nourished hair.

If you find you are struggling try and Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Rinse. We recommend ½ to 4 tablespoons of ACV to 8 ounces of water. –(Experiment to find a dilution that works best for your hair type (dry hair likes less ACV and oily hair like more)

You might find you need the ACV rinse every other wash for the first week or so, but after this your hair should adjust and you should only need it once a month if at all.

Free radicals are often connected with causing damage such as premature aging.

The body creates free radicals through normal function. They can also arise from outside elements such as cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, radiation, and chemicals.

In summary we find that goats milk in a Juniper scented soap is beneficial to the skin on many levels. It can brighten, tone, rejuvenate and rehydrate the skin. Our soaps are good for all skin types because of its naturally occurring skin loving components.

All our shampoos and soaps are made by hand in small batches here on the farm, we use carefully selected ingredients which we combine with raw Goats Milk from our own small herd of happy goats.

Juniper Guest Soap

Guest Mini Soap

Juniper Guest Soap is perfect for weekends away, visiting guests or even to use as a little tester.

Juniper Goat Milk Soap

We combine the essential oils of Juniper, Lemon and Rosemary to produce a soap that has quite a unique fragrance

Juniper essential oil is extracted from the berries of the Juniper Tree, which is type of conifer commonly found in the UK and much of the northern hemisphere. Juniper berries are probably more well known for flavouring gin….. but not anymore!

Juniper essential oil has a fruity base hidden under what can be described as a crisp, woody, sweet canopy, which combined with the freshness of Rosemary and the zestiness of Lemon gives a scent that is a sensory delight and is somewhat addictive.

We loved the scent so much we produced a Shampoo bar of the same blend.

This soap will cleanse and tone your skin and acts as a purifying tonic for normal to oily skin.

Our Juniper Goat Milk Soap contains No Parabens, No Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and No added colour.
